Same-Page Workflow
Re-run operations repeatedly without losing your active tool workspace.
Resizing changes the physical page dimensions — A4 to Letter, A5 to A4, or a custom size — scaling the content to fit and adding margins where you ask for them.
It is most often needed when a document crosses between regions: A4 is standard almost everywhere, Letter is standard in North America, and printing one on the other leaves clipped edges or uneven borders.
How it works
- 1Load the PDF. Existing page sizes are read.
- 2Pick the target size. Choose a standard format or give custom dimensions, then set any margin you need.
- 3Download. Content is scaled proportionally onto the new page.
When you need it
- Converting an A4 document for North American printing
- Standardising a document assembled from mixed page sizes
- Adding a binding margin before printing
- Scaling a large drawing down to a printable sheet
Frequently asked questions
- Will the content be distorted?
- No. Scaling is proportional, so a slight letterbox may appear where the aspect ratios differ rather than the content being stretched.
- Does text stay sharp?
- Yes. Text and vectors are scaled mathematically, not resampled, so they stay crisp at any size.
- Can I add a margin without changing the paper size?
- Yes — keep the same format and set a margin; the content is scaled down inside it.
- Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
- No. Every tool in PDF41 runs inside your browser tab using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed locally, and handed back as a download. It is never transmitted to a server, so there is nothing to intercept, retain, or delete afterwards.
- Does this work without an internet connection?
- Yes, once the page has loaded. The PDF engine, fonts and character maps are all served from this site rather than a third-party CDN, so an unstable connection or a locked-down corporate network does not stop the tool from working.
