Same-Page Workflow
Re-run operations repeatedly without losing your active tool workspace.
Some scans capture two logical pages on one physical sheet: an open book, an A3 spread holding two A4 pages, or a folded newsletter. This tool cuts each sheet down the middle and emits the halves as separate pages.
The cut is geometric — the page box is divided and each half becomes its own page — so text and images stay vector-sharp rather than being rasterised.
How it works
- 1Load the spread scan. Every page is treated as one sheet holding two logical pages.
- 2Choose the cut direction. Vertical for side-by-side spreads, horizontal for stacked layouts.
- 3Download the split document. Page count doubles: each sheet becomes a left half followed by a right half.
When you need it
- Turning a scanned open book into single reading pages
- Converting an A3 spread into two A4 pages for printing
- Splitting a folded programme or menu into its panels
Frequently asked questions
- Is the split always exactly in the middle?
- Yes, the page box is divided at its midpoint. Scans with an uneven gutter may need Crop PDF afterwards.
- Does the text stay selectable?
- Yes. Nothing is converted to an image; only the page geometry changes.
- What if my scan is tilted?
- Straighten it with Deskew Scans first, otherwise the cut line will not follow the gutter.
- Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
- No. Every tool in PDF41 runs inside your browser tab using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed locally, and handed back as a download. It is never transmitted to a server, so there is nothing to intercept, retain, or delete afterwards.
- Does this work without an internet connection?
- Yes, once the page has loaded. The PDF engine, fonts and character maps are all served from this site rather than a third-party CDN, so an unstable connection or a locked-down corporate network does not stop the tool from working.
