PDF Editor

Edit text, fill forms, add links, images and freehand signatures in real-time.

The editor renders each page to a canvas and lays an interactive layer over it, so you can click existing text to change it, drag elements around, and add new text, images, shapes, links and annotations exactly where you want them.

Crucially, it modifies the document you loaded rather than rebuilding a copy from scratch. That is what keeps AcroForm fields fillable, links clickable and the outline intact — details that a rebuild silently discards.

How it works

  1. 1Open your PDF. Pages render one by one; you can start working on page one immediately.
  2. 2Edit in place. Click text to retype it, drag to move, use the toolbar to add images, shapes, links or a signature.
  3. 3Export. The edited document is written out with its original interactive structure preserved.

When you need it

  • Correcting a typo in a contract you no longer have the source file for
  • Adding a logo and a page of terms to a supplier quotation
  • Annotating a plan for a colleague without printing it
  • Filling and signing a form that arrived as a flat PDF

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit any text in any PDF?
You can edit text the document exposes as selectable runs. Text that is part of a scanned image is not editable until it has been through OCR, and even then the recognised layer sits behind the picture.
Which fonts can I type in?
New text uses the fourteen standard PDF fonts, which cover the WinAnsi character set. Characters outside it — most non-Latin scripts — are substituted rather than being allowed to abort the export and lose your work.
Do form fields survive editing?
Yes. Because the loaded document is modified in place, fields, links and bookmarks are preserved. Reordering pages moves the same page objects rather than copying them.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. Every tool in PDF41 runs inside your browser tab using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed locally, and handed back as a download. It is never transmitted to a server, so there is nothing to intercept, retain, or delete afterwards.
Does this work without an internet connection?
Yes, once the page has loaded. The PDF engine, fonts and character maps are all served from this site rather than a third-party CDN, so an unstable connection or a locked-down corporate network does not stop the tool from working.
